James 1:22-25 (NIV)

v. 22 – Do not merely (only) listen to the
word, and so deceive (lie) yourselves.  Do what it says. 

v. 23 ~ Anyone who listens to the word but does not
do what it says, is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror

v.24 ~ and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets
what he looks like.

v. 25 ~ But the man who looks intently (carefully)
into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this,
not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it ~ he will be blessed
in what he does. 

(v.23)~ Word of God, is like a mirror, shows us:-

1)Who is God?

2)What we are like?


       

2 Types of Hearers:-

Hearer Only:  (v.24)	Hearer & Doer:  (v.25)
a) looks at himself	a) looks carefully into
b) goes away	b) continues to do
c) forgets	c) is NOT a forgetful Hearer
d) does nothing	d) is a Doer of God’s Word
